Proverbs 3:5-6

Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths straight."

We have really had to turn to these passages a lot lately and trust in the Lord and know that His plan is always best!

Thanksgiving morning we got a phone call from Maegen (Josephs sister) telling us that they were at the hospital with Granny. They admitted Granny and she was there til Monday night. When she got to go home hospice came in a couple times a week. Granny had been battling cancer for almost 5 years and it began to just take over her body. Granny was a fighter and she didn't want to give up. She went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 18th.

On Thursday, November 26th Joseph and I had gone to the doctor only to discover some devasting news. Our doctor came in to do the ultrasound and informed us at that time that there was no longer a heartbeat!! It was such an overwhelming shock and I didn't want to believe it. Joseph wrapped me in his arms and I cried and I cried and I cried!! At that point we had to determine when we were going to have a D & C. We decided to wait til the following Monday so that my parents could come and be with us.

As hard as it has been we know that everything will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace. Our angel is in Heaven and we know that the Lord will bless us in the future! Please continue to pray for us as we search our hearts for comfort!

Friday the 13th of November

Seemed like it took FOREVER for this day to finally come!

I got to meet with the Physician Assistant and she again performed a normal exam.

By the size of our lil' peanut she estimated our due date being July 4th!

Today was extra special... I didn't get to hear the heartbeat but got to see it! It's amazing to know something so small can already have a heartbeat! What a little miracle!*

I truly don't see how someone can't believe in God when you see life growing in the womb!!

Next appt is around the corner, on the 25th! Hopefully we'll have a more accurate due date and how far along we are!

I still haven't been sick so am very thankful for that! Hoping it continues that way :) Just ready for the exhaustion to be over with!

Oct 22nd!*

We had our first doctors appt! I absolutely love our doctor and am excited that she will be the one delivering our precious angel!

She performed a normal exam and estimated that we were about 5 weeks along! All we could see was a little dot, literally!

She sent me for bloodwork that day and then again 48 hours later and called to inform me that everything looked very promising and I was progressing well!

We then made our next appt for Fri, November 13th!

5 weeks ago tomorrow...

is when we found out WE ARE EXPECTING!!!

I was waiting on that time of the month but was feeling extremely exhausted ALL the time. Hadn't been sick and had debated on taking a home pregnancy test with Joseph but knowing I've never been consistent with how many days apart, I decided to wait a few more days.

That few more days turned into the next day when I went to Target and just had to have an answer so I bought one! Got home... the box said it takes 3 minutes to get an answer. Well this result was instantaneous. There were definitely 2 pink lines staring back at me. I think I looked at it for a good 5 minutes deciding whether the one line would sink back. I even read the instructions again to be sure I was looking at it right even though on the test it CLEARLY said 2 lines= pregnant!

I immediately called Tim and Sarah for advice on how to tell Joseph! I was going to go up to his work but called to see if he was busy and told him we needed to talk. His immediate response was : "You're pregnant, aren't you!?" He was more excited than I thought he would be since we weren't trying at the moment but we know and rest assured that everything happens for a reason!

A New Home

It's hard to believe that 9 months ago I moved to Austin! I'm telling you it was the hardest thing I have ever done in my young life. As excited as I was, I was very anxious about the move. Leaving the only place I have EVER known, leaving my family and friends, my church home, and all the comforts of home that I took for granted for so many years!

It hit me... I was about to start a new adventure of my own and on my own with Joseph! I was going to a town where 1 person knew me. I could be myself with the one I love. God has blessed me and showed me over these last few months who I really am as a person. He has recently blessed me with a wonderful job opportunity that I plan to make a career out of. I have learned that things are not always ideal, but they will ALWAYS work out. That my plan and God's plan don't always line up... but his is always better!

Tim, Sarah and Sophia just moved back to the states and moved to San Antonio! It's so nice to have family so close! They are definatley making this an easier transition!

I think Joseph and I have learned so much in this year. We have really had to rely on each other. He has been so supportive and so patient. He lets me cry and show emotion when I need to with a listening ear and is ALWAYS willing to help.

I miss my family and the fact that I am now 8 hours away instead of 10 minutes! I know this move has been hard for all of us but I see God working through us to become even closer! I love them and can't wait to be home for the first time in 6 months next week!!!

I am excited to see what God has in store for us as the year continues! May He continue to bless us and watch over us!*

From our Old Blog

(blogged Jan. 19, 2009)

Many people have asked us how we met and we always seem to look at each other and smile, feeling as though we've known each other our whole life. For as much as fate plays a part in ones life, it was fate that brought us together that special day!

We shared with each other our lives- past and present and our goals for our future. We found that we had many similiarties and views on life and knew immediately we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together! You always see that "fairy tale" in movies but never think it could happen to you. It's REAL! The feeling is indescribable!

Believe it or not, Valentines weekend my parents moved me to Austin, TX!

Joseph and I got engaged March 15th and got married July 25th!

Well here we are!!

Well this is going to be my 2nd attempt at this whole blogging thing. Everyone is continually asking on a way to keep updated with Joseph and I and I figure this is the easiest way although I didn't keep up with it the first time. I will try to do better as the holidays approach and Joseph will be working longer hours.
